Whitewalls

Ok, Ok, anyone can harass me for these comments. I will accept whatever gets thrown my way. That being said, here it goes: my wife has commented that she really likes pointy fin Alpines so long as they have wide whitewall tires. I do sort of see her point (and I have to see her point, but that is another issue). I really do not want to give up my Michelins or pay the amount necessary to get Coker tires. I noticed in looking at an old Horn that one of the options that the factory offered at one time were "fake" whitewall trim rings. Does anyone know anything about these? Just thinking about them, it seems that they are a frisbee waiting to be flung. I figure any type of paint would either not stick, would crack off, would harm the tire, or would wear off. The fake rings probably do the same. They've probably been outlawed too.
