Small gap? Doesn't it look funny? The more I think about it, the more it seems this is not a good idea to have a functionally useless extra piece of material sandwiched between the tire and the rim to wobble about at high speeds and rub against the tire, especially under turning load.
What are they made of? How thick are they?
