Not sure of the specific details as I know little about the JH.

The Lotus engine used int he JH has absoutely no commonality to thye rootes engines, so the magic was in the bellhousing likely made by Jenson/Lotus.

Transmisions are surprizingly easy to interchange if you have a tig welder and a machine shop at you disposal. The detail work is in setting the propper positioning of the input shaft into the pilot bearing, then welding the two halves of two doner bellhousings together.

I have a friend that put a Borg Warner 6 speed into a 260 Z.
