Alpines don't get no respect -

- AND we don't deserve none.

The Tigers United at Big Bear was a fantastic event and the biggest opportunity ever offered to the Alpine community to join in.

Steve Sage, Jane Sage, and Steven Alcala went way, way out of their way to give us a chance to show we can be a force.

So, what happened? The registration count was something like 60 Tigers, 6 Alpines, and me.

I know of 5 Alpine owning "lurkers" (and to be fair, two Tiger owners) that came up to looky-loo but didn't contribute a goddam nickle to the cost of staging the event.

It should not take an Einstein to figure out why these are "Tiger" events and why the vendors are offering Tiger parts and paraphernalia. The vendors had to truck stuff up the mountain to sell and Tiger people will buy damn near anything that says "Tiger" on it. If Alpine buyers were active, there WOULD be Alpine stuff.

I cannot express my frustration at the lack of support from the Alpine contigent - as I am sure also disappointed Jane and the two Steves. These good people went way out on the limb to welcome us and we were no-shows.
