This past winter, I rebuilt my 2.3, Quad-4 engine in my '90 Beretta GTZ. I really started to like that twin-cam, four valve per cylinder power plant and I was kicking around the idea of swapping a Chevy Quad-4 engine into my series 1. I have found a speed shop that can provide a clutch housing (plus other speed goodies) that will accept a conventional rear-wheel transmission. They say that with port work, cams, etc.,it is possible to get up to 200 hp with the quad-4. It is a light engine and my stock GTZ engine will put out about 130 hp with very good MPG. Plus, one can go to the dealer and buy new parts for it now. I presently have a '78 2.8 v6 on the engine stand, but I am giving the quad-4 some serious thought. P.S. the quad-4 sounds pretty cool too....
Has anyone seen Tom Patten racing in the GT2 class Tiger lately?? I surprised Tom last month with a newly painted Simpson helmet for him to wear. Anyone interested in seeing a picture of it?? Jan
