I have to add the opposite statement. I was tooling down the road one day,
checking to see just how accurate my gas guage was, and wouldn't you know
it, I ran out of gas. I got a gallon from a station down the street (back
when they used to loan you a can to do this) and put it in the car. I had
my arm down in the engine compartment pumping the primer on the fuel pump,
when some guy leaned out of a passing pick-up and yelled "you could've had
a V8." I have to admit it was a funny comment - even if the reality was
that a Tiger would have sucked up its fuel and left me stranded many miles
back.
