While the OD Sunbeam transmission may not be as rugged as a Top Loader, it certainly can, and has, taken a lot of abuse. That OD unit has been in use for a really long time, on other British cars, and is equally well made. I don't think it would be challanged by three times the power the Holbay puts out. put the copncept of knowing what you've got isn't a bad one, just impractical. Any owner/seller would gladly add the kind of list I included. Putting information out on bad substitutions may be deferred until WAY after sale.
