Close Calls

I had two close calls this weekend and survived.

Saturday night, about 9:30 p.m. on Interstate 5, almost dark, the moderatly heavy traffic bottled up and slowed down to about 30 MPH when I hear the sound of locked breaks. Two lanes to my left a sedan plowed into a full size pickup truck and the sedan got the worst. I could only see the moment of impact [20 feet directly to my left] but the guy's hood buckled up and his rear wheels appeared to lift off the road. If he had been behind me I would have been in the hospital.

Sunday night, almost sunset, stopped waiting for red light to change, low sun directly ahead.... Boom! This time the guy was in my lane. Luckly he only tapped me and a quick inspection showed no damage. The Alpine's bumperetts lined up with his flat rubber bumper and we were both saved from an ugly scene.

Be careful out there!
