Ok, so now I am torn. Because of all the requests about the quality of
various parts, I spent some more time looking at the car. I found that it
is in remarkably better shape and more complete than I had thought. I also
spoke with the guy who sold it to me. He said it was running fine, that he
thought the engine was rebuilt, and that the only reason it stopped was
because one of the fuel tanks was leaking. I cannot state that the engine
was rebuilt. But, it is the original engine and everything is still there
and connected - even the plastic windshield wiper bottle. It seems a shame
to part this car, leaving the rest of the car to disappear into the dust of
the earth.
The whole reason I bought the car was for the GT stuff. If I use the shell
SIII I know of to rebuild my SV, but ultimately decide not to use the GT
stuff, it seems I should just get this one running and keep it alive so the
world does not lose yet another remarkable car. If I do decide to use the
GT stuff, I will part out the rest and let everyone know.
