I may have mentioned this in an earlier post, but just in case:

The seal that Rick is selling is meant for Series V covers which have the inside lip cut square (probably another economy move, like the exposed seams, etc). Early series covers have a curled lip which performs the same function as Rick's seal. So, if you can find an early timing cover.............
