<< Has any one had problems with their softtop frame not meeting the rear vertical window edge. With the top up on my Series V I have a triangular hole behind the window glass-this is about 1.5cm at the door level tapering to nothing at the top rear corner of the glass. The horizontal seal along the top is a perfect snug fit. I suspect the frame has become distorted over the years but I am at loss how to correct it The top is new and so are all the seals. Any ideas? Hi, Karl - This was a common enough problem way back when to cause the Rootes service department to issue a bulletin. Basically, the bulletin said that if the top was up and in a normal condition, and the gap you describe was present, the fix was to install new top frame pivots (the big casting behind the door that the top frame bolts to) and carefully instruct the owner in the proper way to put the top down! On a more useful note, I had reasonable success eliminating the gap on my SerV by removing, cleaning, and lubricating the pivots, and CAREFULLY bending the pivot arms until the top frame aligned with the window glass. Fortunately, I did this with the cloth off the top, as it's MUCH easier.
Hope this helps!
