People,

I have just spoken to someone at Performance Wheels. Let me say at the outset that their manner is not overly helpful (why wouldn't they want to break into the US market? You just can't figure out some people).

It seems that Ian McKenzie of Select Sales, the US distributor of the wheels, had personal problems to the point that Performance Wheels thought he had gone out of business. The chap from Performance Wheels here says he will try to contact Ian McKenzie to see whether he still intends to import the wheels, and then he will ring me to let me know the situation.

If you people are not happy with that, the suggestion is that we get together a suitably sized order and deal direct with Australia. It looks like I will have to help at this end as Performance Wheels here is not interested in the freighting of the wheels.

I made the point that you guys have asked for the wheels by name, were happy with the quality, and appreciated the price advantage over Minilites. This didn't seem to make much of an impression, apart from getting the response that they always had a good stock of wheels too.

I suggest that we start to make up a list of people who are interested in buying a set of wheels, then address the problem of getting them to the US and the total cost involved. It sounds like Mr McKenzie was buying a container of wheels each time, so for a smaller order the freight will be more expensive. Hmmm, maybe that's your delay. Mr McKenzie wouldn't be sitting on orders till he gets a container load would he?

Cheers, Paul.
