Thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest so far. Also thanks
to everyone for their kind words of support.
I've been asked to describe the webmaster duties in a bit more detail
to give those interested a better idea of what they might be taking
on.
With the exception of the mailing list archives which are mostly
automated, the entire process consists of receiving submissions by
email and posting them to the web site. There are a number of
submissions in the backlog.
The web server is in Utah and is accessed by ftp. I keep a copy of
the web site files on my machine, edit them as necessary, then upload
to the web site. It's kind of a pain having to upload everything via
ftp but overall the maintenance itself is fairly easy. At least in my
case, finding the time to actually do the work turned out to be the
biggest problem.
That pretty much it. So far 4 people have contact me. If anyone else
wants the prestige that comes with being THE Alpines webmaster, speak
up now.
