Bill, I think what I did was to move the face of the gauge rather than
calibrate the needle and I did it by undoing the two nuts on the back slightly
and repositioning the face.
The holes in the back are quite a bit larger than the threads of the instrument
so I think you could get 10deg. out of it.
This was all a few years and beers ago but it is worth a try.
