Hi. I am a new Alpine Series V owner and am looking forward
to learning more about this car and hopefully making an
occasional positive contribution to this group. The Alpine
is a 1966 and was originally dark green though it was
painted a medium blue color about 10 years ago. In addition
to restoring it to its former color I am planning a interior
and canvas re-do this winter. Mechanically, it is a strong
runner and seems to have led a reasonably pampered life,
Best of all, the body is in excellent shape with not a hint
of rust or filler. Having reviewed many of the archived
posts generated by this group, I have a questions...
1. Studded hubs availability? My splinned wire wheel hubs
"clunk" and as I understand it, there is no cure short of
replacement. As I eventually plan to run Minilites, I guess
I should switch to conventional studded hubs.Opinions?
2. Bumper (f&r) availability/repairability? Mine are both
damaged (minor). Is their a source for replacments or a
service that restores originals?
3. Roll bar source? Perferably one that will permit the use
of both the hard and soft top?
Thanks in advance for any replys or advice. I'm sure many
more questions will arise!
