My SIII did not come with a grill. I just picked one up. The chrome
actually cleaned up pretty nicely, except for a few spots which probably
really cannot be noticed. The only problem is the bottom end of the three
"struts". The middle one comes down, bends 90 degrees and has a small bolt
attached. The two side ones do not have the 90 degree tab and seem to have
had the tabs broken off. The small bolt on the middle one seems too short,
and possibly it broke off at some point.
Are those tabs necessary?
Will it vibrate and make too much noise without them?
If I can fix the center one, is that enough?
Does anyone have any decent struts they would like to sell?
Oh, one more question. The horizontal bars seem to bow across, with maybe
a slight bend at the right side strut - it's barely noticable, and
sometimes I'm not sure its really there. But, I ask, is it supposed to be
that way?
Well, two questions, I did not buy another surround. I figured mine was
fine. But, mine is Stainless. Did the SI-III have a chrome surround like
the grill, or was it stainless too?
Thanks.
