Monterey Concours

So this weekend I received my monthly Porsche club newsletter (yes, this is
Alpine related). It is the local group newsletter, not the national
glossy monthly magazine. There are all these shots of the Monterey
Concours, with Porsches everywhere. Then, what should I spy, but in a
picture of countless Porsches on line to park, on the side of the road is a
SI or SII Alpine! It is the only non-Porsche in the whole newsletter!
Here is the bummer. The driver appears to be working under the dash, with
his legs sticking out the passenger door (familiar position?) with someone
looking in the bonnet, and the caption reads "That's a British sportscar
receiving mechanical assistance ..." Ugh!

Anyone know whose car that is? It appears to be red, but I can't tell for
sure (B&W photo). Hey my memory just spiked with someone giving us a
report on his trip to the concours and problems with his fuel pump, or
something. Was that Rex? Did you know you would have your legs and car
published?

I'd love to write back to the editor with some funny explanation. But,
reality is that the Porsche owners just won't understand. "It's British,
right? It's not running, right?"
