Frank, I have had best of luck cutting a new piece with the curve of the
metal bar in one length. I have found the best way to glue it is with "Super
Weatherstrip Adhesive...applying coats on both the metal and the fabric.
Glue the top first, stretching it out from the center to the outside edges.
after it is thoroughly dry (24 hrs.) determine how much is needed to go
around the foam roll and to the center of the angle in the metal. Add a
little bit more then apply a couple of coats of glue to the vinyl and a
couple of coats to the metal. Let it air dry overnight . The following day
apply another coat of glue to each side and stretch the vinyl from the
center , taking care not to compress the foam too much that it will
eventually pull apart. If you install the piece immediately following final
gluing you can take some wood wedges (I use half a squeeze clothes pin
between the bottom of the dash and the metal of the edge roll insuring that
it will stay in place while the glue cures...Hope you understand and this
process works good for you too

Has anyone out there have experience with this? Do I just cut the new vinyl
square or should I cut in the curve of the metal bar? I've little
upholstery experience.
