I have found that top part of the Strombergs which are screwed down to the main carb body are almost usually bent a bit. This bend inhibits free movemonet of the piston inside the carb. I just tighten down the tops slightly and then alternatley turn the screws a half of turn and check the piston movement. I can always find the place where the top is tight and the piston moves. Kind of a pain in the arse, but it works...
