Jerome, I wouldn't use ANY model paints! I have found this stuff not up to automotive quality. I would paint it with a PPG DP, epoxy primer. I not sure about the trim paint that you mentioned too. If it is a semi-flat black look that your after, you might experiment with the DP90 primer (black) to see if it has the correct flatness that you are after. The DP90 is pretty flat, and i use it quite a bit.
