Go to the local trons part store and get yourself a lever type micro switch
like the ones
used in electrical cabinets, where as a failsafe, when the doors are
opened, the power is
disconnected. Get one with a N/C contact, so that when the lever is not
pushed, the
contacts close, and your blower will turn on.

Radio Shack will not likely have one of these, try something more
industrial, or a larger
type store that sells surplus trons.

As for the mounting, place the switch on the side away from the direction
of the control
lever when "on". Mount the switch however, and wherever appropriate, but
such that
the lever is pressed when the control in in the "off" condition. Ajustment
"by bending
the switch lever" should be such that the last half inch or so of control
lever travel, contacts the
switch's lever, and opens the switch.

Be certain that the switch is rated for 10 amps at 12vdc. A 5 amp switch
for 110v should
be acceptable, or the switch can in turn actuate a relay with the proper
current rating.
