Well, folks, to make a long story (or trip!) short, I made it!

Had an unexpected visit with Barney Gaylord as I passed by Chicago - or
should I say, as I stalled at Chicago. 8^( Seems a dodgy set of Napa
plug wires was arcing rather wildly at the dizzy cap, once the snow really
started to fly. Barney to the rescue, he came out and taped up the cap until
we could get the car to his place and replace the wires. Fortunately,
"Blizzard '99" didn't close the auto parts store!

Other than having to travel at speeds well below the posted limit in
order to avoid joining the MANY cars and trucks spun off of I-80 during the
storm, the remainder of the trip was uneventful. Thanks to all who offered
their aid, and especially to Barney and his family for their hospitality.
