Tim, I sandblasted my old '57 Chevy (about 25 years ago) and never could
get rid of all the trapped sand inside the body. Just about every day
there would be a little bit of sand that would appear in my trunk. This
went on for years and now I am convinced that dipping the body is
today's best option available. The local dipper (Cincinnati, about 50
miles from me) will charge about $800 for the Alpine body shell. It will
remove the rust where the sandblaster can't reach. Plus, no worries from
accidental panel warpage from sandblasting.
