This particular car is only 20 minutes from my home. So this morning I drove
over and met with the owner.
The engine looks great, it is out of the car and has been painted silver. He
said he had the crank turned to remove pitting but the machine shop said the
cylinders were in great and shape didnt need any work. He said the engine only
had 52000 miles on it when they parked it. It had been in a minor mishap with
the end wall in the garage or something like that. The carbs looked great and
everything on the engine and tranny were in good order, except it will need a
new distributor cap (one of the plug wires is broken off.)
Now the body. WOW. Rust through on several quarter panels. Dent in rear on
the truck lid. Most of the body is in rough shape. He said he has parts for
most of the damaged area, except the quarter panels.
He had the car tarped so I didnt see in side. There is supposed to be newly
recovered seats and a new windshield to put in.
If you have any question, you can email me or the owners son who is listed on
the add.
