Depends who you ask - after a near death experience in Vancouver BC
when my SIV was sucking break fluid into the carbs - I by-passed the
servo altogheth and went 'real-time' from MC to wheels - as you said the
brakes worked like any other non-assisted brakes - just a little ankle
muscle and they workd just fine - drove it that way for two years - The
Mole might disagree with my quick-fix ( he bought the Black Beatuty -
don't know if he still drives it - i could not afford the $700-800 for
the servo rebuild at the time. But i never felt unsafe with thos
direct brakes - not like I did when the servo was all screwed up -
probably a leaking diphram.
