This morning I installed my new Pertronics Electronic Ignition. It is
contained within the distributor cap. After I corrected an installation
error, my car started up instantly and ran smoother than it had before.
I'm sold. Pertronics has systems for both pos and neg ground (mines
pos). I bought mine from Classic Sunbeam and the installation is a
snap. My operator error was that the instructions say to screw the unit
down with the screw from the condenser. Well, it seems that my
condenser was not screwed down. I screwed the igniter down with the
screw from the points. After I re read the instructions I moved it to
the condenser screw (the kit came with the necessary screw) my car
started instantly witht the first turn of the key.
