Robert-
Cute story, and I envy you your wife, mine stops me at the door and performs
a 'sniff test.' If she smells oil, grease, or anything related to
automobile, into the doghouse I go. If I even brought equipment into the
kitchen I'd become the next John Wayne Bobbit imitator. Harsh.

It sounds like you may not have replaced your four bladed fan when you redid
your radiator. There appears to be a few ways to fix the problem, but the
stock fan just cannot pull enough air from most folk's experience. You can
either get a better fan (available in most parts stores but beware that
there is enough room on both sides for the fan to operate) or set up an
additional electric fan. I have the same problem as you and have decided on
the electrical route, but have not implmented yet. My water pump did go bad
in a slow way that lead to additional problems, but even after replacment it
was not enough. Added cooling is required if you're driving in traffic I
believe.
