Ray,
Theoretically speaking, to stretch the springs slightly will bring the
advance curve on sooner, hopefully to make more mid-range power. I tried
this trick on my Alpine, but I couldn't tell any increase from the
seat-of-my-pants performance indicator. Another major affect on accurate
performance findings, is the distribtor's manufacturer LUCAS. It was
hard enough to just keep the distributor working...
