Rob,
I think that you are simply 'reading' the numbers incorrectly. Remember that
the rotor within the distributor turns counter clockwise. So if you were
reading the numbers clockwise as #1, 2, 4, 3, this means that your firing
order is correct - 1, 3, 4, 2.
