Karen:

Don't pull the pulley! Chances are that the marks are there, since they tend
to disappear under even a very thin layer of rust and dirt. Clean your pulley
thoroughly for approx. 75mm. clockwise from the big groove and they should
appear. In the event that you truly have an unmarked pulley (and this is
possible) you can purchase some soapstone from any welding supply store and
mark your pulley with that (specially made for marking on metal) The marks
are 6mm. apart and there are 12 of them, each representing 5 degrees away fom
TDC. (I have used this on other engines and the marks were still clearly
visible a year later, and can easily be renewed)
