Ignition and Timing

Have been poking around the Alpine lately. Have had a couple of warmish
days (approaching freezing temperatures).

Question #1. I'm wondering about the distributor. It doesn't cross match
to the data in the Series V manual. Distributor number is 41267, with a
25D on the top of the distributor body. The vacuum advance markings are
5-17-10. Any idea as to origin?

Question #2. The engine in this car appears to be combination of S V and
SIV. The block is SIV with dual Strombergs, and all SV electrics. The
Question is re: timing. There is a timing pointer on the timing chain
cover, but the pulley doesn't have any timing markings, only one big
groove. The alignment of the groove and the pointer is TDC. Barring
better advice I'm going to pull the pulley and get the protractor out to
put a series of markings on it.

Any clues would be appreciated.

P.S. There has been some suggestion that Fiero seats will do well in an
Alpine. Has anybody looked at Miata Seats?
