A possible source for the black "rubber bands" for gauge rebuilding would be
to go to an electronics parts house that deals with drive belts for turntables
and tape decks. They are available in a variety of diameters, lengths, and
shapes: flat/round and square section. I believe I used drive belts for a
Teac deck last time I went thru my gauges.
