In ignorance I took my calipers apart to rebuild them. I have since
reassembled them and torqued them rather high. I'd imagine the concern
may be that the seal between the halves may be lost but I have not
noted any leakage. However, my car is in the latter stages of
restoration, and has yet to be driven. But I have applied the brakes a
number of times without ill effect. I can only hope this will hold up
when the calipers get hot.
