I have heard that alot of the VW stuff is interchangeable with the sunbeam
parts and readily available at off road/ VW parts outlets. If you have
access to one of the places mentioned you might try it...I am going to try
to get to V Parts in San Diego today. I was once in there a long time ago
and I remember that they had everything under the sun to restore old VW's. I
suppose if you find something close and the fact that rubber stretches you
may be able to fix the problem for a couple of bucks
