All this talk about wire wheel splines got me thinking. With all the
different British cars I have I should compare splined hubs. I got out my
trusty calipers and took all the key measurements from my Triumph TR6,
Austin Healey 3000, Alpine splined hubs. All of them are identical. This
leads me to believe that the splined hubs used on all of the smaller British
cars use the same design standard. I have noted that Jaguars use a larger
diameter splined hub presumably to handle the higher horsepower engines.
