When I separated my hubs from the shafts I used a large Craftsman three-jaw
puller. Once I felt I was applying more force than I should I then hit the
end of tightening bolt very sharply and it came apart. Be sure nothing is
in the path of the shaft because when mine came apart it was a pretty
forceful.
