seat-rail treatment

Wishing for some advice about how to treat my seat-rails. I washed and
bead-blasted them. They were rusty along the bottom where they bolt to
the floor, and signs of prior silver-coloured paint. Now, I'm not quite
sure what is worth doing, since part of them is fixed, and part is
movable, and the movable parts will wear against each other to bare
metal anyway sooner or later. But, the static parts will just rust
again, maybe quickly even just exposed to the air. Should I

A) leave them alone - they shouldn't rust very quickly
B) paint them and live with what wears off and what doesn't
C) paint some parts and not others

?

Were they originally bare metal?
