My 67SV has been troubled ( or should I say I've been troubled) by gas
fumes from the trunk. Even without a top the smell can get pretty bad. I
sealed the sending unit cap with silicone, repaired the cracked end on
the vapor ? hose and checked the filler neck hose and finally checked
the balance pipe hoses again. There was a strong odor coming from one of
those so I spent a fair amount of time figuring out what needed to be
removed in order to replace it. After a good amount of time holding a
flashlight with one hand and scratching my head with the other it
occurred to me to check the tightness of the clamp. Eureka! The
simplest solutions are always the best.
