Hello All,
Haven't been to the office for some time so I was mildly surprised at
all of the Alpine traffic. You are a prolific bunch when it comes to
your Sunbeams.
A couple of people answered my initial posting and recommended I use
another alternater rather than the original. I agree it was a pain and
initially replaced it with a Chevy 396 externally regulated
alternator. It fit the bracket, but was an inch or so behind the
original. It looked weird as the fanbelt had the bends in it, but the
thing worked.
I thought since I was in a country that has a lot of British cars one
or two could be found here. Since the car has such few miles on it,
it would be nice to keep it original.
I think the original alternator was a Lucas, but I don't have any part
numbers to work with. Does anyone have a part or model number?
Thanks,
Gordon
