I was all set to take my Series II out for an Easter spin when the dreaded
gas tank crud problem socked me. The fuel flow was firmly blocked inside the
tank at the fuel line connection. After clearing that, I'm still not getting
good fuel flow, and probably have more of the crud in the line.
The tank inside has never been cleaned or painted. I guess that the paint in
pealing and clogging the system. Anyone have any experience with this? What
is recommended for short term/long term fixes? The two halves of the tank
are held together by six bolts. Is it worth it to split it open, clean and
paint, and then try to re-seal it? What paint works?
Thanks for your ideas and experiences,
Don
