I have had intermittent problems with my stoplight switch of late. Mainly
no stoplights! I jumped the two connections on the switch and the lights do
work. So I changed out the switch from my parts car. I checked the green
wires back to the lights. I bled the system and it seemed to work.
Yesterday I pull off the main road into my neighborhood after work. Not
only do the stoplights not work, the rear, left turn signal is out too. The
lady behind me honks and gestures up and down and to the left. I'm not sure
if she is asking me if I am turning left, asking me if I know who my parents
are, or both. A bit later I go over to the local Super Wally World, when I
remember the turn signal. I take off the lens in the parking lot, clean the
bulb connection and it is back in business. LUCAS, gotta love 'em!
Anyway, there isn't any discussion of the switch in the shop manual I can
find. I can get them to work if I give the pedal a good, hard push. Before
I re-bleed the system (not my favorite pastime), can someone confirm that I
need to take the switch off and make sure it is filled with fluid then
re-bleed it? Then if that doesn't work, call Rick and buy a new one? Is
there anything else I need to check?
