No, keeping the crankcase devoid of blowby gasses keeps corrosive elements
from contaminatiing the oil.

The oils PH drops with time, and sludge also develeops.
The corrosive oil, wears the parts out faster, and the sludge is good
for nothing.

The PCV valves introduction in the mid 60s was responsible for engines
regularly hitting 100,000 miles before an overhaul was needed.
