OK, so now my plans to start my car Saturday morning have been crushed
by a problem with the rear CD150. I am completely stumped. The
problem is as follows:
When I pump the primer on the fuel pump, fuel gushes out of the jet of
the rear carb in a stream. The front carb is ok; no leak. Naturally I
assumed the problem was either a bad float or a faulty needle/seat.
Now way, not me, it's never that easy.
So I get another float. Still leaking. I get another needle/seat.
Still leaking. I think, maybe the bowl is impeding on the float. I
put on an extra bowl. Still leaking.
Now I'm getting a little miffed. I've check all the floats I have, and
they all are good. So I decide to switch the needle/seat from the good
carb. Guess what? The back carb still leaks. Arrgghhhhh!!! So now I
know my new needle/seat is OK and that all the driving I did (not much,
fortunately) to get another float and needle/seat (thank you, Jarrid)
was for nothing.
So here I am, three hours later, after midnight and no closer to
solving my problem. It is a complete and total mystery to me as to
what the source of the problem could be.
Oh yeah, I did put a dish under the carb and filled it with fuel thru
the bottom of the carb so I could see what was going on. When the
level came up, the float pressed down the needle and blocked off the
fuel. No leak, no matter how much I primed the pump. But when I put
the carb back together the problem reappears.
Now, my question is...what the hell is going on, dammit??!!!??!!!!!!
Sorry, I'm a little pissed off right now.
