blower unit sealing washers

I just refurbished my blower unit. At the top of the shroud there are
supposed to be 2 "sealing washers" (according to the Parts Manual): foam
rings meant to seal the top of the shroud against the underside of the
dash bodywork. I only took out one seal, and am replacing it with
weatherstripping.

Q: Are both seals supposed to be the same, or is one thicker than the
other? the PM displays them as one on top of the other, but doesn't
indicate any sizing. Anyone else fool enough to have their car
completely apart (you need to, to answer this question) as the weather
is getting gorgeous? :(
