Can anyone help?
I am getting ready to do some Powder Coating and want to stay as original as
possible on my S3 GT restoration. Someone had sprayed my entire engine with
a turquoise paint and I need some help on original colors as I have no other
Alpines to refer to. My questions are these:
What was the original color of the Valve Cover? Polished or Black. I just
received the latest edition of Tiger Tails and I noticed the Alpine on the
cover has a Black valve cover. How about the oil filler neck, natural or
black.
I assume the block was Black and the head was natural aluminum?
How about the brackets for the generator? Fan and Pully?
Also, as long as I am dumping all this $$$ into this engine rebuild does
anybody have any conversions I should do without hesitation. Such
as....should I stay with the twin Zieniths or go to something else. Cams?
Pistons? Clutch? Anything I should be aware of. I have never driven an
Alpine, only a Tiger. Do they run out good?
