various blocks, heads, and trans to determine what series they are? I
have seen somewhere a chart listing series and serial #'s for the
chassis. but if i have spare engines, heads, and trans, without the
chassis #'s i am lost.

Chris, I can only speak from what I've seen on my own car but the
engine # should be the same as the chassis #. Look on the second page
of your SS catalogue for the Serial # to Series chart to determine what
series your various engines are. Maybe someone else can answer the head
and trans question.
