Also sounds very much like a bad float needle valve.
If you replace them, try Grouse Jets, from Victoria British (I can't believe 
I wrote that!!).  
On my daily driver I used to go thru jets every few years.  The Grouse Jets 
have lasted at least seven years (approx 80-90K miles)
