For anyone interested in the 1961 Rapier Saloon , Speedvision is running
highlights of the 1961 Monte Carlo Ralley. Most of the half hour feature
is devoted to the teams racing in the Sunbeams and other 1600cc saloons
but there is even a little footage and mention of the Alpine that won
it's class that year. The highlight is seeing these cars practically
scrape their doorhandles on the pavement as they go all out on the final
Monte Carlo Grand Prix circuit. One of the Rapiers turns in the fastest
lap of the day regardless of class. In my
area ( west Michigan ) it will air again tonight at 1:00 am and at
10:00 am Sunday EDT.
