Stromberg carbs always seem to need the choke to start the engine,
if it is not anywhere near opperating temp.

There is also the fast running adjustment, which props the throttle
more open with the engine in choke mode.

By adjusting the fast running adjustment, it should be possible to
get the engine started easily, then remove the choke gradually, as
the engine will accept the less rich mixture.>>

Hi Jarrid,

I think the fast running adjustment is working, because I can see it moving
when the choke is pulled. The problem I have, is once the car fires, if I
try to give it more gas too fast, she'll stall. I have to kind of feather
the throttle, until it sounds like the motor clears her throat. Once the
revs pass 3000 rpm, she'll settle down to a fast idle, but until I get the
motor to "clear her throat," she runs rough and stumbles.

I know, I know, switch to webers!

Tom
