When I rebuild my engine, I had a NOS pump without priming lever. So, I
planned on using it. When I went for the "IT LIVES" sensation, I had no
luck. After much searching, it turned out that the fuel pump actuating arm
was at a different angle than my original one (with priming lever). As a
result, the actuating arm was not riding correctly on the cam so it was not
pumping. Yours sounds like it came off of the car. So, maybe they are
different. I do not have the number handy.

I got it from a guy named "Vince" who used to work on Alpines only, here in
the San Fernando Valley. He was tall and sported a waxed mustache - and I
think tended to wear military boots. Last I saw him he was getting kicked
out of a house where he did his work. This was probably about 1980-81.
Anyone ever know him? Know where he is now? He had a beautiful red
straight fin Alpine and a Rootes van (sorry, don't remember any more about
the van).
